_This is the English reading version of the Dutch news item [Autodesk gaat zelf de MCP-service hosten](https://vibecad.nl/2026/10/21/fusion-compute-mcp-cloud/)._

Autodesk has added a third [MCP service](https://vibecad.nl/en/what-is-an-mcp-server/)
for Fusion. There were already two, and each does a different job.

## The three services

The first is **Autodesk Fusion MCP**. It drives Fusion on your own computer: real
time, local, and aimed at the modelling and making work in the program you have
open yourself.

The second is **Autodesk Fusion Data MCP**. It does no CAD. It is the service that
manages your data: hubs, projects, folders, permissions, properties and metadata.
So you use it to organise your files, but you cannot make a sketch or a feature
with it.

The third is new: **Autodesk Fusion Compute MCP**. It runs in the cloud and drives
Fusion there. So an agent works in Fusion without Fusion being open on your PC,
and you can carry on working on your own machine or look in later. You do not hand
your Fusion subscription over to an agent; every agent gets its own Fusion environment
to work in.

A session starts within seconds and keeps running for at most an hour. In the beta
you get two sessions at a time, and sessions are temporary: anything you want to
keep you have to save or export before the end.

All three need an Autodesk account, an active Fusion licence and a hub in Fusion
Team. You connect the cloud service to your MCP client through `https://developer.
api.autodesk.com/da/v3/mcp/fusion`.

The details are in the [post on the Autodesk blog](https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/fusion-compute-mcp/)
and in the [documentation](https://help.autodesk.com/view/ADSKMCP/ENU/?guid=ADSKMCP_FusionComputeMcp_autodesk_fusion_compute_mcp_html).
